Summary: This one really does the job. I use it for my bedroom, master bath, and walk-in closet which totals about 325 square foot. I was really suprised at how much water it accumulated the first few days! It does heat the room up a few degrees, but the room does not feel any warmer due to the decrease in humidity. On the low sitting is is really not all that loud. Not sure of the durability, only time will tell.
Summary: Bought one of these from lowes about 3 years ago. I use the drain hose feature. It's in my basement. My only problem is that I used the absolutely useless guide from energy star to choose what size unit to put in my basement. Should have bought a bigger one. Basement is about 800 square feet and pretty damp. This unit is not big enough for that. Going to by an additional 50 pint dehumidifier.
Summary: I like everything about this dehumidifier. This unit is used for my basement. It is quiet and is an "Energy Star" unit. I researched many different dehumidifiers and this seemed like it was the best. I have had it for over a month and am very pleased with it. It removes the moisture very well and the damp musty smell in the basement is gone.
Summary: Two years ago my Haier dehumidifier was broken after 4 years service. I bought this one. It only worked for two years (two summers). Right now it only blows air no water come out. I don't know where to buy a long last dehumidifier.
Summary: My wife and I purchased this dehumidifier since we live in a basement-level one-bedroom apartment. I think within the first 24 hours of letting it run, it pulled over 60 pints of water out of the air. We had to empty it a few times, so if you're looking to put this in a larger space I might get a larger model (our apt. is 615 sq. ft.). Pros: Easy to use - it'll give you a humidity reading and show you as it decreases.
Summary: After a lot of research, I bought this unit in late June 2008. I use it during the summer to cut the humidity in my NYC apartment. The unit does generate a lot of heat and can be loud. That said, it's a pretty good price and has done well so far.
Summary: I was having a problem with mold in my apartment. After I started using this dehumidifier the mold never came back! This unit constantly pulled a gallon or so of water out of the room (150 square feet) every day. It has worked great for over a year now. It is also much more quiet than the window air conditioner.
Summary: Purchased this unit in Sept 2009 and only used it 8 months total through Oct of 2010. Turned it on 3 weeks ago and all I have now is a floor fan. Coils are not cooling to remove condensation. No freon, bad circuit board, etc., who knows? Unfortumately one year warranty has expired. Called Frigidaire and told them that this unit should certainly work for more than 8 months. The unit it replaced lasted for 10 years.
Summary: Unit does not does what I was told it would for my sq. footage, it runs constantly no matter where it is.; I was assured this was the correct capacity. Difficult to move around, leaks when moved even if bucket is empty, bucket hard to pull out and push back in.
