Doesn't get hot!

Bassplunker "Stan", Amazon
23 April 2014
  • Summary: I threw mine away. It doesn't get hot. My French fries became soaked with oil and turned into mush. Guess you get what you pay for. Tried onion rings and some other items also... no luck. The thing is absolutely worthless as a fryer. gotta get out my checkbook and buyer a real fryer now.

good little fryer!

hydra, Amazon
18 November 2013
  • Summary: bought this yesterday and it works well! it's just me so I don't need a lot of frying space. not sure why people are having trouble keeping the cord in. put it in and leave it alone (don't move the fryer around, push it to one side or the other after it's plugged in, etc). set it on a counter, keep things away from the cord, as in all electrical products; heat it up, toss your food in and close the lid. I love the fact that you close the lid!!

POS

R. Barkey, Amazon
13 October 2013
  • Summary: I bought this garbage because it looked like a commercial fryer for home use. Was I ever mistaken. The plug keeps falling out while cooking, you can't adjust the temperature while cooking, the timer shuts off during cooking and can't be reset during cooking and if you haven't already guessed you can't do too much cooking with it. Save your money and use a frying pan.

save your money

adrienne, Amazon
11 February 2012
  • Summary: I like to occasionally fry foods and this was a good price. I also liked the filter in the lid idea. Well, I made chimichangas the first time and finally gave up on it frying anything. I fried 3 in the fryer the other 15 in a skillet. It simply did not get hot enough for anything and I had it turned as high as it would go. I didn't have any problem with the cord just with the heat issue.

can't even use it

jma_bma, Amazon
4 January 2011
  • Summary: I received this as a gift and was excited to use it. However, I won't be able to use it as the plug won't even go into the slot on it at all. Once I thought I had it in but as soon as I let go of it it fell right out. I also noticed that my condensation tray won't come out either. I also don't like how it has filters that need to be cleaned after every use.

Piece of junk ... twice!

J. Wegner, Amazon
25 September 2010
  • Summary: I bought one of these because of the lid and the controllable temperature; and, the 5-star review. Don't know what the 5-star person received but the first unit arrived and I couldn't get the cord to stay attached to the fryer. It is a clever(?)design meant to easily pull away from the pot if someone should trip over the cord thereby avoiding spilling the pot.

nice little cooker

Cindy davanzo "Cyn lew", Amazon

  • Summary: I bought this item for small jobs. It heats nicely and is not nearly as messy as the old fryers with no top. Very easy to clean.

Great small batch fryer, especially for a klutz!

amykathryn, epinions.com
16 April 2009
  • Summary: I recommend it to anyone wanting to fry chunks of something occasionally. It won't flash fry a buffalo in 30 seconds, but it fries chunks of potato or tofu well.
  • Pros: Keeps temperature even, lid prevents splatters, safety feature on electrical cord to prevent accidental spilling
  • Cons: No built in timer, but a standard kitchen timer does the job just as well.
