Summary: This roto fryer does not do what is expected of it. I have used it several times and each time it had burned the food. Have also tried turning the heat down and using less time but the same happens. Would not recommend it.
Excerpt: The machine was adequate and easy to clean. However, when cooking chips they invariably all stick together in a clump at the bottom of the basket and have to be broken apart no matter how many times you remove the basket and shake them as they cook.
Excerpt: We are not impressed at all. It may use less fat but the chips are nowhere as nice as our previous deep fat fryer. The chips seem to brown very quickly so do not seem to cook as well inside. We have turned the setting down, but it makes little difference.
Excerpt: large for storage. I would not have brought it because twice now i have had problems with the basket taking it to the plate to empty it of food. You have to be careful that the basket is stable. Quite a lot of steam when cooking. The only plus is less oil.
Summary: This fryer is a bad design. It is very fiddly to use the basket, the lid is of very poor quality, the hinge clip jumps out, which could be dangerous. The cable storage is pathetic, the plug does not fit in easily and then you may not be able to get it out.!
Summary: The lid does not seem to work properly once the appliance has reached the operating temperature. It cannot be opened by simply pressing the button. You have to insert your fingernail to lift it and this is probably rather risky.
Summary: At first when we got this we were mildly disappointed at the quality of chips coming out was not as good as our previous fryer and the mechanism for raising/lowering the basket seemed a bit flaky. However, after about 3 months, the explosive spring on the lid became more and more of a liability.
