Conclusion: It is just what I needed, cordless so I can use it all around the house. And the Answering System so I don't miss any messages. It doesn't interfere with my WiFi Service, one thing less to worry about.
Summary: I wish I had read the reviews before buying. The phone is static-y and the person I am calling complains they cannot hear me. Also having problems with the battery dying within minutes of use despite charging for hours. I will be looking for the return slip to send this back.
Summary: I came here to see if others were having trouble with this phone. It turns out that there are others with a scratchy phone so I'm going to assume they have a bad part in most of their phones or a drunk person soldering them together. The scratchiness is unbearable. This is going into the garbage in less than one year. A phone should last at least 10 years.
Summary: The phone was a magnificent addition in my home at first. After a month, the phone started giving problems. Static became a big problem, and my phone continually says "SST Paralel Enc." I assume this is a technical issue. I would suggest any potential buyer to look into other phones within the similar price range. Remember, you get what you pay for.
Pros: Comfortable Handset, Compact design, Easy To Set Up, Good Speakerphone, Wide Range
Cons: Not Durable, Poor Sound Quality, Produces Static
Summary: At first the reception was ok, but within a week it's nothing but static and very bad reception. Maybe if it was used as a land line it would be ok, but I have to plug it into my router and use it as a digital line. It's useless now except for receiving messages. I have to use the receiver on my fax machine. Bummer.
Summary: I hate to write one-star reviews because I like to think I'm a careful shopper and a bad review means I failed in that endeavor. We bought two of these VTech phones in '08. In less than a year, the batteries in the handsets had to be replaced because battery life could be counted in minutes and on the digits of one hand. Also, in under a year, we noticed recorded voice messages became garbled to incomprehensibility. VTech had a procedure to clear it up...
