Summary: I really wanted a high-quality 5.8GHz phone and thought "for 20-bucks, how can I go wrong giving it a try". Well, I got my money's worth. Read up on DECT 6.0/1.9GHz - there are possible health issues that haven't been proven. But now that's almost all you can buy.
Pros: Works, cheap, non-DECT 6 (5.8GHz). Doesn't seem to interfere with Wifi. Reasonably attractive and light.
Cons: Terrible reception when more than 40-50 feet away. We have this mounted on the wall in the kitchen and it basically cannot be used when in either of the "far" bedrooms. Our house is 1600 sq ft so the "far bedroom" is about 60' away. I cannot hear my daughter when she calls and she's in her room. ...
Pros: Cheap phone, works fairly good for voice quality. Has a caller ID screen.
Cons: Just a cheap phone, if you receive one that is defective like mine where parts of the screen just don't work you're out of luck. Summary: I don't like buying phones as they're such the commodity anymore, but this phone may be the exception of the rule. V-tech has been a respected brand in my book for a long time and I think they have a pretty good rep. Would purchase again!
Pros: Works excellent. Budget priced. Lasting for months, like 4 now. Wife is happy!!!!
Cons: Static on almost every channel, all the time. Hit the channel change button 5 or 6 times and you just might be lucky and get a clear signal. This happens even in the same room with the base station.
