Summary: We purchased this system in the summer of 2007. The system worked fine for about a year then started going bad. The primary complaint is the sometimes you will dial a call, hear the ringer sound one time and then the phone flashes "Out of Range" and goes dead. This has happened on three out of the four handsets, including the one on the base station when it was only 5 feet away from the base station. The fourth handset never gets used.

Summary: My old 2 - Line phone system would not hold a charge. I'd miss calls because when I picked up the phone, even if it indicated bars on the handset, it would just "die" on the spot. The Uniden TRU9465-2 5.8 system is working out just GREAT. I had the second handset off of the base for 3 days before I noticed it lost (1) bar. I accidentally dropped the handset and the battery panel flew off but nothing was broken. Put it back together and it is working fine.
Summary: I love Uniden and their products. When my last phone went dead a year ago I was devestated. I had had it for years and every new one I tried had bad sound quality and interferenc. Until this awesome purchase. This phone has everything and is everything I need. The 5.8 GHz technology provides excellent sound quality all the time. I have the main base on my desk and the extra handset by my bed.
Summary: I have had no problems with this phone so far. I have had it 3 or 4 weeks. I especially like the feature that allows you to copy numbers in the "phone book" from one phone to the next with just a touch of a button. Though this phone is fairly simple. I probably will buy another hand set, a third phone, later.
Summary: We've owned many cordless phones over the years; after three months' use, this system is clearly the best. I chose it, in part, because it's expandable. The handsets perform similarly to good cell-phones (minus cameras, etc.), but while each can be separately programmed, I opted to program one unit, and then with a single press, cloned the settings to the base and the other handset.
Pros: Durable, Easy To Set Up, Nice Features, Strong Signal
Summary: i wish i could give it no stars- straight out of the box it was charged for 15 hours as required, and after that, we can't use it. it keeps saying "out of range" and it does NOT have an answering machine!!! shouldn't a phone this expensive have a decent range AND an answering machine?? we're returning it right now!!!!
Summary: This phone replaces the Panasonic system, which I returned to Amazon (and received full credit for...they always come through!) a month or so back. I originally had a Uniden system with a base and one other station, which went dead after 3-4 years. I got "adventurous" and ordered the Panasonic as a replacement...what a mistake. I already wrote a review on that piece of plastic junk, so new use in rehashing it here.
Summary: I bought this phone system as a supplement to (and an upgrade to) my existing Panasonic 2.4 GHz phone system. I thought that the 5.8 GHz Uniden would have an even better range than the Panasonic. Boy was I ever wrong! The Uniden handset can barely reach a few feet from the base unit before it starts up with the crackling and static and dropping words. Sitting one room away (one small room away) the Uniden is just about unuseable.
