Riguy79 "The Guy Behind the Guy Behind the Guy", Amazon

Summary: This phone is nothing spectacular. All in all, everything works as advertised. I have, however, a few reservations: -The handset microphone is WAY too quiet. I always have people asking me to speak up. The phone is designed flat, so to move the mouthpiece closer to your mouth means moving the earpiece farther from your ear. Not a great solution, obviously. -The volume control on the answering machine is set too high.
Summary: I generally like this phone, but have a few issues I will share: PROS: It is very easy to reset the date and time and other settings on this phone, you can do so without opening the manual. Press the settings button and a voice guides you through the setup. You get a belt clip and handsfree ear bud (which my wife cannot live without). Full featured, gives you all the caller-ID, call waiting, etc that you expect in a modern phone.
Summary: From day one the max volume on the handset was too low on a lot of calls, and I don't have a hearing problem. Had it for less than a year and it started making a lot of weird noises when I was on calls. Granted, the handset had been dropped a few times, but still it should have lasted longer than it did. Phone book is terrible (only allows for 10 presets). Base unit is ugly. Ugh. Don't waste your money on this thing.
Summary: I have had this phone for a couple months now, and it has performed well for the most part. The only problem I have had is that occasionally the sound from the caller will fade to a really low level and fade back in. I haven't figured out if there is interference from another device or what. But, that has only happened a handful of times in the two months I have owned this phone.
Summary: It was time to get a new cordless phone and I bought this because it was on sale, and featured hard number buttons -- I find it more difficult to dial phones with soft, squishy buttons. Bad decision. You can't hear anyone even with the volume set to maximum, the answering system is just as bad in terms of registering voices, and apparently no one can hear me. I plugged in my headset to the jack, and they can hear me, but I can't hear them.
Summary: We have owned this phone for about two years and LOVE it. I am on Amazon now to buy one for my mom, who is looking for something that's easy to use. The memory function is terrific (extremely 1-2-3 in nature) and the answering machine is great. I was surprised to read the negative reviews ... I am wondering if these people got dud phones, because our Uniden 15580 is simply terrific.
