UNIDEN Cordless Telephone System with Answering Machine

Summary: The Uniden Cordless Telephone with Answering Machine actually comes with 2 extra phones, not just one, therefore 3 phones in total. The quality and convenience of use is excellent. Unfortunatelly, in my case, the original description was not so clear and I was seeking a 2-line phone system not a 2-phone system(as pictured). The phone system was in excellent shape, the seller reliable.
Summary: Well, I've learned my lesson. Never buy ANYTHING without checking out the reviews here first. I set this phone up yesterday so I'd have a reliable phone for an important teleconference this morning. I disrupted the whole meeting since everyone on the call could hear the static and buzzing my phone was emitting. I had to hang up and call back on my home phone just to be heard.
Summary: I've bought every makeof phone there is, but now I buy only Uniden phones. This one is like the others, high quality, good price and will undoubedly serve me well for a long time. Don't be scared off by the "refurbished" label. The quality you get is the same as new.
Summary: I bought this phone as a replacement for the original one I had. Lightning came in and fried the base on my original one...yeah, should have invested in a surge protector with a phone line receiver. Anyway, I have never had any problems with this phone or the previous one. Clear with no interference. My original phone was probably at least 3 or 4 years old at the time the lightning got it. I was just lucky enough to find one that had been refurbished at a great price.
Summary: The only good thing about this phone is if you want to reduce the amount of time you are spending on the phone, because after 30 seconds of trying to talking through the static you will want to get off the phone. DO NOT BUY.
Summary: This is the first -- and last -- time I have purchased a Uniden phone. My neighbor and I saw these on sale at Home Depot, and bought them at the same time. She returned hers within a few weeks of setting it up, said she didn't like it. I should have tried mine right away. I had bought it as an "extra," since my Panasonic 2.4 GH set was older & I didn't know how long it would last. I recently moved to a larger home and set the Uniden phone up. What an awful product.
Summary: The DXAI 5588-2 has many nice features. However, I've purchased many cordless phones in years past and never had a set of 2 that you could not use together. If you are upstairs and your wife takes a call for you downstairs, the upstairs Uniden phone is useless because only one phone can be used for incoming calls.
Summary: Bought this about a year ago. Despite the two handset bases placed in optimum conditions, we couldn't get a signal in over half of a 2400 sq' one-level house. The call quality was static-filled unless you were standing in the same room as the base unit. Battery life degraded quickly; 6 months in, I had to buy a pair of replacement rechargeables.
