Summary: When my 10 year old gigaset handset developed an intermittent fault with the headset speaker I went with Siemens again as the build quality and performance of the old handset was really good and I prefer having the central 'box' separate from the handsets. As my phone jack is in an awkward location in the house this lets me place the handsets where I want without having to have a 'master' answerphone handset in a poor location. Easy to use, simple to set up.
Summary: The base unit is small, and can be hidden away. The handsets are comfortable, clear and well-featured. It is possible to share directories between the handsets, and it is also possible to set up the system so that all can participate in the same external call (like 'real' household phones: no need to go through a clumsy call transfer mechanism when a shout will do).
Summary: hand sets, produce clear calls are easy to use + set up, they look ok too ,they are described as robust? which was my main consideration. I don't think they look particularly robust, but no damage in the two weeks I have had them, so hope they are .
Summary: Robust. Useful features. Good reception range. Perfect for my small business. Came recommended by an expert in phones. clear and simple instructions that an old man like me can master. Best system I have had and I have had a few in my time.
Summary: We bought this phone to replace a similar product which had started to give trouble after many years use. We found it fairly easy to set up - we are both retired in our 60's though moderately used to working with technology. One advantage over the old product is that two or three people can listen in and talk at the same time, which is great when chatting to family members who live some distance away from us. The ring tones available are limited - but so what!
Summary: After a lot of abuse, the time came to replace our BT Diverse 4010. this proved more difficult than expected as the Diverse was ahead of its time. Although didn't particularly want an answer machine went for this model for its robustness, as it accompanies us in the garden and garage/workshop.
Summary: Having had a set of 'other' DECT phones, for which I paid very much less and were of marked inferior quality (unsurprisingly), I wanted a very much better quality product which would be robust and straight forward to use. The Siemens Gigaset E495 phones are just that. Maybe not the most blingy items but I didn't want that! They are instead very well built and have that classic Germanic logicality and simplicity.
Summary: We were unsure about this phone as people have criticised it for ringtones and being too bright in a room at night. Well, it just goes to show people dont read the manual. The ringtone can be changed, there are number of choices from hideous to pretty standard stuff nobody could object to....the main thing is that you can hear it. And, despite what it says in another review....you can hear it it if you adjust the volume....infact, I found the top setting too much.
