Summary: Before buying this phone in September 2009 , when it was £79.20 I have tried couple of other Skype phones which were crap. Without any problem this phone is in continuous use since three years . Only the rechargeable batteries were changed twice which is understandable. This phone is in my mother's use , and me and my brothers/sisters being in three different continents saved hundreds if not thousands of pounds ,dollars & euros.
Summary: I have used this for one month, only as a Skype phone - landline connection is far away from internet cable and little incentive to invest in a Ethernet over mains unit next to the landline connection. Main use is for business calls from an outbuilding at the back of the garden. The base unit is installed in the house and connected to the router - a connection to Ethernet over mains unit in the outbuilding did not work well - slowed down network speed for some reason.
Summary: This is an extra handset to link with our existing phone and base station. Took me a while to link it in, as I did not press the reset button correctly, and once I realised, it took no more than a couple of seconds. So it is easy to add in and works perfectly. No more charging down the stairs when the phone rings.
Summary: The additional handset for the RTX Dualphone 3088 works as expected. It was easy to pair the telephone to the base station. This telephone is for both land-line and Skype communication. there is only one feature that did not worked as I had expected. I had expected contact lists and Skype accounts to be stored in the hand set, so that each hand set can be adopted to the user. But this is not the case.
Summary: I already had one of these but bought this one for my mum who lives in Portugal. She had a handset that connected to the laptop but never had it connected so I'd ring her and get no reply. This phone is permanently live and I can ring my mum at any time of the day and she can answer it like a conventional phone but the calls are free! It also doubles up as a DECT phone for normal calls.
Summary: I have ordered RTX Dualphone 3088 Euro Version from Hip-IP on Wednesday afternoon and, you won't believe - I got it in my hotel the next day ! I'm not British, I'm a visitor here staying in hotel just for few days and soon after buying I was actually thinking about cancelling the item because I was afraid that I will not get it in time, but I would never think that it will arrive so quickly.
Summary: In general this is a good piece of equipment but it could do with more development and better support. The voice quality is quite variable and I cannot pin down what causes the distortion which occurs sometimes. The end result is that my wife will not use it. This handset was to replace one that failed by having no display after about 12 months.
Summary: I bought the Dualphone 3o88 to cut my ever increasing telephone bills. I have purchased a one year subscription for unlimited worldwide calls with Skype. The Dualphone works without any hitches. It took me about 15 minutes to get the phone up and running. When ringing out to a landline via Skype the calls are clear. If my 95 year old father can hear me ok then it's got to be good. I have added an additional handset to make the system more versatile.
Summary: Its what it says on the box.Found it simple to set up. Used the instructions on the internet site as instructed. No problems auto software update was automatically carried out. Works perfectly.
Summary: This is the first Skype enabled phone I have used and it lives up to its description. Easy to install, intuitive to use. No PC required means that only the router needs to be switched on for the phone to work with Skype. It works as a cordless landline phone anytime and can distinguish between incoming Skype/landline calls.
