Summary: I received my phone today, setup took all but 5 minutes and connected to Skype with no issues. I checked the firmware and it was already running the latest version so I experience no sound quality issues. Negatives: - Looks cheap, feels cheap - screen is nothing like the product image quality - like an old nokia...
Summary: This is a great product, and does everything that it says on the tin. I use it (and the additional handset) for both Skype and landline. It replaces my Panasonic phones (which blew up in a thunder storm) and work all over the garden. I did have trouble at first with the volume, but later read that while on a call you have to press the upper part of the ring to increase the volume. Once set the phone remembers the setting.
Summary: I have had this additional handset for around 18 months and the main system for a little longer. Build quality is pretty good. I have dropped the handsets a number of times and they keep ticking. The screen is a little small for me. I have seen some landline cordless phones that have a slighlty bigger screen allowing for bigger and better text. However, the screen is "sufficient". The buttons are a little bland and take a good press.
Summary: I received this phone a few weeks ago and have been very pleased with it so far. It was very easy to set up, just plug in and go. I call Canada frequently and the quality of sound is very good and clear. It works really well both Skype and landline. I had a USB Skype phone previously but this is so much better as you can use it without the computer. It is not the most hi-tech or fashionable phone but it does what it says on the box.
Summary: An excellent Skype phone which can double as a normal landline. If the buttons could be more tactile I would rate this as 5 stars but they feel like they soggy when pressed and do not give me positive feedback. Other than that....s good purchase.
Summary: RTX DUALphone 3088 for Skype (No PC Required) Living in rural Spain without a landline and poor mobile signal, I rely on Skype to keep in touch with my Family & Friends in the UK. I have tried headsets, and both corded and cordless USB phones, which have been OK but you have needed to keep the computer turned on to receive a call.
Summary: Plus points: easy to set up; simple to use; good quality landline and Skype calls. Negative points: buttons are a little stiff; can't save multiple usernames and passwords - so awkward if you have more than one Skype account; can't filter contacts - e.g. view Skype users only. That said, it's well worth the money.
Summary: This is a great phone that is easy to set up. Call quality is good, not 'next door' quality but clear. It includes a speakerphone and the battery survived a four hour conf call while on speakerphone with about 1/3 left on the battery guage. The interface is clunky and the and the ringtones are very 1980's midi tones (Think of Howard Jones and his keyboard stuck in a phone box). It is good enough that I am buying a second phone.
Summary: This is my second dualphone 3088, I am delighted with the product, it does just what it said it would. If you are looking for a phone to use around the house and garden, for skype without having the computer switched on or a landline call, this is for you. I do have a problem with my 1st phone, after 9 months it has stopped ringing in, either landline or skype, but I am in the process of getting it sorted out I hope. It has not put me off having another.
