The base station simply does not have the keys needed, so it is useless. Here is an example key sequ...

So far, we love it

Walmart
21 June 2010
  • Summary: Our old phone started acting wacky, so we found this one online. We love the fact that during a power outage, the main unit doesn't loose the ability to be used; yet, the extra, portable unit can be carried out into the yard. Best of both worlds.

Corded and Callblock!

Peg, Amazon
23 January 2014
  • Summary: Having a corded set for power outages is a necessity, extra cordless is great. Call blocking....heaven!!! Most times I don't even hear a ring, others I might hear one partial ring. You can also set a Night Mode for no or low ring at base or handset.
