Summary: I had purchased an AT & T set that had two handsets. One of them never worked. I even purchased a new battery for the second handset but it still never worked. All of these are working fine. I have an elderly mother who doesn't care much for cell phones and loves to talk on the phone. I thought that if one handset didn't work she'd have three that did. I like that you don't have to go to the main base to pick up messages. I can retrieve messages off of any handset.
Summary: The Motorola cordless phones are not for the elderly. I am 62 years old and my friends are my age or older, so no I would not recommend that they purchase the phones. The ring tone are so low even on the highest volume the ring is low. If I had not destroyed the packaging I would return the phones for an exchange or a refund. I now must have by old phone plugged in to know when the Motorola phones are ringing.
