Easy Phone for home use

Jason G., Newegg
29 July 2013
  • Summary: Final thoughts are that this is a great phone, especially for what I paid for it.
  • Pros: I bought this phone for a home asterisk PBX set up and so far it is working great. The phone was very easy to setup. The call quality and the Speaker quality are great. With the two lines this is nice for my business calls to have one and my home phone to have one.
  • Cons: A couple minor speed bumps I ran into was the phone only like numerical values for the extension password with asterisk PBX instead of the alpha-numeric that asterisk is defaulted to use. I had to go to asterisk and tell it not to require alpha-numeric password. ( I am sure there is a way to make it work, I haven't cared to try yet). The weather setting was a little confusing too how you have to copy part of a link from weather.com. I ended up just putting in my ZIP c...

Good for the Price

James G., Newegg
10 December 2012
  • Summary: Yeah, no backlit LCD, but how often does a use need to look at the LCD panel in a darkened room. Turn a light on.
  • Pros: Great price, well built, half the price of some competitors. 2 lines, speaker phone, programmable. Supposed to be some way to manage them thru tftp, but I haven't done this yet. Voice quality is very good over ulaw on both the handset and speakerphone.
  • Cons: No backlight on the phone LCD. Haven't found any documentation on centralized administration.

Worked Well for my Purposes

Richard F., Newegg
29 September 2012
  • Summary: I will probably use these if I decide to switch over to FreePBX full time.
  • Pros: Used these to test the FreePBX distro of Asterisk. Connects will little effort (enter the account credentials to register phone, SIP takes care of the rest). Phone supports quite a few codecs as well (G.7XX varieties). Made some test calls to cell phones and land lines, no issue in sound quality either. Seems like a pretty solid entry level device.
  • Cons: Haven't used this device beyond a few hours of test calls and checking registration with SIP register. No PoE either, but is advertised as such.

Marjorie Mallows, Amazon
13 January 2014
  • Summary: I've used these phones before and really like them. Only problem is in trying to get it to work with Blueface in Ireland. Got calls coming in but cannot dial out yet. Once I crack that it will be great to have one of these phones again.
