Summary: I ordered this for my Mother who has a hearing problem. It has NOT been very reliable and certainly not worth the EXPENSE. She bought a cheaper hearing phone at Target that put this one to shame. However, the service dept and complaint department was there every time to assist. IT's just not the phone we expected it to be.
Summary: This is a well made phone but you can't get more than 25 feet away from the base. The volume boost cuts in and out all of the time. I don't like this phone but choices are limited. Good service from vendor.
Summary: We can't leave the room the base is in or we lose contact. Our voice breaks up to anyone on the other end. We are very disappointed especially when it is an expensive phone. We replaced it with our old $80 phone we used prior.
Summary: I bought this handset, along with the base unit, for my 89 year old mother who is hearing impaired. The sound quality on both the base unit and the handset are sub-par, but especially poor on the handset. The reception on the handset is very limited, the handset cannot be located very far from the base unit or the sound will break up. Even when placed only a short distance from the base unit the sound quality is sub-par, but at least the sound doesn't break-up.
Summary: I wear 2 computerized hearing aids and still was unable to hear many on a normal phone. Supposedly, there is a "telephone" selection with one of the hearing aids, but it doesn't do that much either. Then I found this Clarity C-4220 and now I can even understand my mumbling murmuring son when he calls AND the cute little high pitched voice of a little Grandson. If you wear hearing aids this is the phone for you.
Summary: I purchased this phone because of the features of an answering machine, speaker phone and wireless handset. The clarity is terrible, and it sounds as though people are talking in a tunnel. Even members of my family with excellent hearing say the clarity is terrible. I'm returning the phone because it's useless.
Summary: The phone is well constructed, has lots of features but unfortunately we could not get rid of the static on the line. I called Clarity to find out if we were doing something wrong and they thought it might be the phone itself but the tech support person said that maybe we had too many electronics in the room. I don't think we do but then he said with the amplification, you can hear more static than you might be able to hear on other phones.
Summary: Bought this for my Mother-In-Law, who has problems hearing (she's 87). Everything works great, with one exception. The message delete function isn't straight forward. For old folks, everything should be straight forward! The message has to be playing to delete it. That's not straight forward!
Summary: We purchased a C4230 base unit plus three C4230HS handset units for my parents in their 80's. They were having trouble seeing their phones, hearing, and we were having trouble hearing them. This is a fantastic system -- when it works. Unfortunately, after 6+ months of troublesome resets (taking out batteries and constantly rebooting) we're pretty much ready to throw it all in the trash (over $500 wasted!).

Summary: I purchased the Clarity 5.8 GHz Professional Amplified Cordless Phone Clarity 5.8 GHz Professional Amplified Cordless Phone with DCP and Digital Answering Machine (C4230) for my mother who is deaf without her hearing aids. She was experiencing problems in getting her hearing aids synchronized with a standard phone making it impossible to have a phone conversation with her.
