Summary: I work from home and the spend a lot of time on the phone so i needed a phone with a large phone directory and one that i could plug a headset into. I also wanted a corded phone so it didn't interfere with the cordless phones I have plugged into my other home phone line. This phone according to its spec does all of these things but has a number of bad reviews. However because i couldn't find another phone with all of the features I needed i bit the bullet and bought it.
and the display itself is very clunky and dated - like something from the early 1980's

Summary: This phone promises a lot on paper but fails miserably in practice: 1.It does not have even ONE decent ordinary telephone ring-tone. All the available tones are awful, and the ring volume is low and cannot be adjusted. 2. The user interface is clumsy and unintuitive, and the display itself is very clunky and dated - like something from the early 1980's. Inexcusable considering the display technology available today. 3.
Summary: This is actually a really good phone once you get used to the quirks. The ringtones are indeed for the most part ridiculous but there are a couple you can use which would pass for a regular phone. The delay before the phone starts ringing (compared to a different phone on the same line) is odd but not a major problem.

Summary: I see a lot of people panning this phone and that's not unusual because you can't find a corded phone with a decent review. Here is my experience. Turned up undamaged plugged in handset and phone line. Bit disappointed it needed a power plug but that's the way it goes. If you need screen illumination etc. it isn't going to run from the 70V and limited current BT can supply. That's just life. That said I am delighted, Imported contacts from my Mobile SIM.
Summary: This was a refurbished phone from BT Online Shop- The first one had to be returned as the chosen Ringtone would not work - kept returning to the default horrible polyphonic Ringtone. The Bt shop quickly accepted it's return and speedily dispatched a replacement. Unfortunately this does exactly the same thing. The strange anomaly is that when we receive an annoying recorded sales call - it does ring with the ringtone I want.
