Summary: I had high hopes for this phone. The idea that it would match up perfectly with the excellent FritzBox 7270 router really appealed to me. The rechargeables in my Gigaset decided to die, so I thought I'd treat myself... What's good... Your google contacts can magically appear as the phone book. The display is nice enough, but I'm not sure colour is really required. Physically, it's nice to hold, good weight. Packaging, presentation all good. What's bad...
Summary: The AVM Fritz! Fon MT-F Cordless DECT\GAP SIP phone is indeed a little gem of a product! I actually have three of these which I purchased to partner my Fritz! Box Fon WLAN 7390 Wired/Wireless Modem Router which I also purchased from Amazon. Together these items make a very sophisticated setup which does much more than most other gigabit modem router/voip telephone products. I have two of these Fritz!
Summary: This is the second Fritz MT-F DECT phone I recently bought, and, I'm absolutely delighted with them. The call quality is extremely good, and, if in HD mode, it's superb. This device will also send and receive emails if so configured, I have mine set not to alert me, but, I can look if need be, I had this thought, of it 'pinging' waking me up in the night to tell me of a email, but, if I need to check, I can of course.
Summary: Phones are quite expensive but they work very well with the Fritz!box. Contacts synchronise seamlessly across the handsets and router, provide the information you need and can be used with the landline and VOIP provider you have set up. Don't forget you can also use your iphone as an extenion so no need to buy as many handsets a you may be used to aroun your house/office.
Summary: I won't repeat what others have said, but one thing not mentioned is that the phone's power supply has a continental two-pin plug, so you need a UK adapter. The same phone from Sipgate comes with an adapter.
Summary: These phones are superb when used with the FritzBox router. I've just set one up for my local pub; it's great. The router sits neatly out of the way, with the Streamline terminal plugged into one of its "FON" ports. The landlord can stick the handset in his pocket and the phone is wherever he is. The functions to control the router from the handset are excellent, too- you can turn the WiFi on and off, reboot the router, check your answering machine or fax mailbox....
Summary: I bought two of these AVM DECT phones along with a AVM Fritz!box 7390 router. In the event I encountered problems connecting the 7390 to the internet and so continued using my 7270 router, also made by AVM, with the phones. Remember firstly that these phones are designed to work with AVM Fritz!box routers and will not work as standalone products. The phones connect to the router via wifi and cannot connect directly to the phone network.
