Summary: NewEgg's RMA process is borked. It tries to get you to pay $19 for a UPS label to send back DOA junque, or you spend hours dealing with a fairly well hidden phone return number (I googled it) that eventually calls you back and with luck you get a UPS label in email at some point in the future. Not customer friendly at all. Plus AAT's (the company that licenses the AT&T name) QC seems to be awful.
Pros: Has decent features, display, headset jack, speaker.
Cons: Arrived broken or is simply unusable due to extremely loud, hyper-distorted sidetone (mic feedback in earpiece). When I talk I hear a very loud scratchy noise -- basically my voice as if fed through a totally broken amplifier -- in the earpiece, both on headset and handset. It makes conversation almost impossible, unless you say "over" like on a CB. We'll see if they send a replacement and if it works. Also, when used with 1 line (they don't make a 1-line version), it...
Excerpt: I'm SO GLAD I got this phone. It's very easy to program and has speed dial storage as well as a directory. We use a voicemail service through AT&T instead of the voicemail on this phone, yet it still alerts you on the screen when there's a voicemail. This is nice because with my old phone, I'd have to pick up the receiver all the time to see if there was a beep indicating a new voicemail.
Excerpt: we're off the grid so all the features do not work for us. We love the caller I.D. and use this when the generator is on. There is, however, a problem with feedback. We can hear other people dialing and talking. I hear a phone ringing. Our daughter called the other day and I was on the phone. When I talked with her later she wanted to know where I had gone. Well I had not gone anywhere, I was talking on the phone. She did not get a busy signal.
Excerpt: I do like this answering machine, sort of old school but you can have 2 different lines with their own message (I have a PT clinic with 2 different businesses in it and it is great to use the same phone machine.) Setting it up wasn't so easy, maybe it's just me but I like things simple.. I would buy it again.
Excerpt: This was a compromise purchase. I didn't need 2 lines but wanted a lit display---hard to find in smaller phones. Not enough support across back of phone when wall-mounted, combined with buttons that are not easy to push leaves this setup less than ideal. Thought it featured voicemail alert, something like a flashing light to catch one's attention---haven't seen that work. Bulky for a wall phone.
