Summary: For 30 dollars this chip is ok, but I expect a 30 dollar chip from 2012 2 b able to play a game from 2002 and load control panel no problem. Not the case. Basic tasks take up 100 percent the cpu. This is only a good piece for troubleshooting or for people who only email and web browse and don't mind lag. I'd give it two and a half stars just cuz price.
Summary: I tried to get this cpu to work with an old motherboard and the motherboard seems fine because I've tried other cpus in it and the ram seems to be fine, but when I put this cpu in it, it seems to not boot. It won't go past the starting screen. wouldn't buy it even for a cheap price.
Summary: Tested this processor running on ASUS P6X58D Premium - LGA 1366 - X58 - DDR3 - USB 3.0 SATA 6 Gb/s - ATX Motherboard which is a single CPU motherboard on X58 Chipset. Also running as dual CPU on EVGA Classified Super Record 2 Motherboard 270-WS-W555-A2 on Intel 5520 chipset. Anyway, this is a retail/box Xeon processor and it does not come with CPU cooler. You have to purchase the CPU cooler separately.
