Great for servers where data corruption is unacceptable!

Summary: Great server processor, the reason why we use xeon processors in servers is because it supports ECC ram for those situations where data corruption is unacceptable (ecommerce sites, banking / financial databases etc).
Summary: Put this in my Mac Pro Cylinder to replace a 6 Core CPU, crossed my fingers, turned it on and smiled as the Mac Pro sprang to life. I could not discern that single core operations were any slower while video rendering is WAY faster. Best price I cold find and VERY HAPPY!
Summary: My Xeon E5 arrived last week and I couldn't wait to get this puppy installed. It's one the meanest processors out there and my computer is literally UNSTOPPABLE. There's literally NOTHING this processor can't handle. I've thrown every program that I own on it and it performed flawlessly.
Summary: I bought 2 for quantum calculations and am not disappointed. I have one on an ATX sabertooth x79, 64gb of 1866mhz vengeance and an H100. The other is on an mATX Asus rampage IV gene with 32GB of 1866mhz Dominatior. Big question: why did I buy it?
Pros: low TDP excellent performance can handle quad channel ram
Cons: Cost: the Xeon 2687W (150w TDP) is 1-5% faster, depending on your benchmark and prices at ~$1,800 rather than ~2,000 The reason this processor costs more than the 2687W is the TDP, which makes a big difference in air cooled server environment.
Summary: Un buon pc per avere buone prestazione deve avere un bel pcuore e buono polmoni i processori intel xeon sono costosi per fare calcoli e per i programmi di grafica e altro è un buonissimo prodottoro spendere bene per un buon processore è un mio consiglio perchè la mascchina deve partire bene non deve...
Summary: The money intel asks weighted against the performance gain compared to 2670 is too high. Also the processor does not support avx2 and fma4. Still the best out there at the moment for Scientific work (thanks to still underperforming AMD on this front )
