Summary: Don't waste your time and money on this product. As other reviewers mentioned, what in the box is not you paid for. I ordered two of these, and both came as intel pentium 4 after I opened the box, a much cheaper product worth about $300 each. Very disappointed.
Summary: Beware, judging by some other comments I have found out there, this has happened more than once on Amazon. I ordered what should have been a E5-2687W cpu but instead I got a Xeon chip made in 2008 that retails for $300 in a E5-2687W box. When you get your CPU, inspect it before you accept it especially if the packaging looks abused. On the CPU itself you will find the model number as well as a production year. This one didn't exist before 2012-2013.
Summary: More a comment on Amazon's delivery failure. Product was delivered in a soft-bubble envelope, upon opening, the retail package was smashed, but the chip appeared to be intact due to the plastic protector. However, after opening , I noticed that the label on the chip said "i7-3820". I thought perhaps this was an alternate description, but turns out it's a $290 consumer chip!! The seals appeared intact, but I didn't inspect closely before opening.
