A great processor...

  • Summary: I found this jewel runs at lower temperatures than another E4400 I have for bench tests. I miss the packaging quality used on previous Intel family processors, the CPU Fan Cooler included also is not really good, if your budget let you, make yourself a favour and buy a different one, I buy a SilverStone Slim and now I feel good about thermal handling, if you cannot buy it separately, remove the thermal compound and use something better like Arctic Silver or MX-3, in...

Fantastic CPU for the price!

Captain Crunch, Amazon
15 April 2008
  • Summary: Yes, it appears to be true; the Xeon E3110 is the same processor as the LGA775 socket E8400. I couldn't find an E8400 in stock for quite some time but luckily found out about this "server" edition that some boards recognize as being the same thing. Check out the specs on entusiast forums and you'll see why everyone is going crazy for these processors. It is blazing fast, runs cool on air, and is an overclocker's dream! For the price, you can't go wrong.

Stable and cool running even when overclocked.

John I. Mollhoff "jmrunner", Amazon
14 April 2008
  • Summary: Equivalent to E8400. Overclocked and stable at 3.75GHz. Have run SETI for 3 days 24/7 with no stability issues. Zalman cooler is probably overkill. Have yet to see CPU exhibit temp higher than 34 C. (12 C over ambient.) Ran stable at 3.84GHz for a couple of hours on SETI, then bumped it up to 4.0 Ghz. At 4.0 Ghz it would post, but I received Kernel errors so dropped it down to 3.75GHz.
