Summary: Been running 2 of these in a SuperMicro X8DAL-i for almost 3 years now, and they're still going strong. I'd love to build a new system with newer, faster chips, but these are still handling everything I throw at them.
Pros: Intel quality and performance, what else needs to be said?
Price is too good to pass up for this much CPU power

Summary: Hard to beat the price - we bought 2 of these bad boys for our aging Dell PowerVault NX3100. It originally came with a single quad core CPU & 6GB of RAM. We now have 16 threads available, and bumped the ram up to 48GB. Total overkill for what it does, but man is it fast :P
Summary: matched this xeon with an intel dx58so and oc'd it from 2.4ghz to 3.6ghz! running strong and steady for 6+ months now with no issues whatsoever. i strongly recommend for older x58 motherboards since compatible cpus for x58 chipset is diminishing and are very expensive.
Summary: Oh and this is to Newegg! Next time you ship CPUs maybe you should put it in a box! Shipping CPUs in a padded envelope can be detrimental to the CPU. I hope this work and I would test it if only Intel included a fan and heatsink like all their other CPUs!
Pros: I have not set this thing up because guess what? It does not come with a freaking heatsink!!! Come on Intel!! If you're going to sell this and not include something as essential as a heatsink in a retail product then at least state it in your specs! I can only imagine this to be fast if only it h...
