Not a bad processor if you're stuck with a 775 socket.
25 January 2011
Summary: For the value this 775 is good.. especially compared to other 775s that are only marginally better but quite a bit more expensive. I had to buy a heat spreader as this one got pretty hot using the standard Intel fan. It still runs hotter than I would like but it's in safe operating ranges when running processor intensive applications such as games and 3d modeling software. I typically verify temps running SpeedFan and CoreTemp and at the hottest see temps around 47* ..
Summary: This chip does not replace the stock E2140. Bus speed match. Socket match. Is in Acer's compatibility list, but NOT COMPATIBLE. Upgrading bios didn't work. Intel tech support said they didn't know, ask Acer. Acer said, "Sorry for the inconvenience." Additional commentary unpublishable.
