It was and is still one of the BEST socket 775 dual cores EVER MADE...

HypheN, Amazon
31 August 2013
  • Summary: This lil guy is a TROOPER.. and I'm told when paired with a decent ASUS / high-end motherboard, it is easily overclockable up to 3.5-4 ghz if you have a robust enough heatsink / fan on it. With water cooling? Perhaps even better. I'm not currently using it, but I MIGHT reassign it to a small bitcoin mining machine. We shall see...

Good item/highly recommended

venic210, Ebay
3 November 2011
  • Summary: With a windows rating of 6.6 out of 7.9 this item is a good buy if you are looking for a cheaper processor with a lot of power for it's class. Though the stock heat-sink might not fit all mother boards.

worth every penny I paid

bizon71, Ebay
23 August 2011
  • Summary: A thunder storm fried my motherboard and the cpu. I went from a celeron to a pentium processor and the difference was noticeable, how ever the improvement also was due to an upgraded motherboard.

Great processor, esp. when matched to a Pent. 4 Board.

Beverly in Ormond Beach, Amazon
21 July 2011
  • Summary: I used this processor on the motherboard I purchased from the same vendor (see other review) and it has worked great! It was easy to install, works fast as lightening, and works smoothly with Windows 7 with no problems. Be patient during initial setup, as this process is a little time consuming, but well worth it. Fantastic upgrade for older slower units without having to buy a completely new system.

Runs very cool and performs well.

Sergio "Sergio Georgi", Amazon
12 May 2011
  • Summary: Got this CPU for a Mediacenter PC that will be used only to stream HD content and it works very well. A passive heatsink is ok as this CPU won't generate much heat. Worked right out of the box with default BIOS settings.

A Fast Processor

lukecool55, Ebay
4 April 2011
  • Summary: More than 80% of the programs and games are too simple to justify writing multi core usage into their programming, so for them a 4 core is a waste. Out of all of the CPU specifications, speed is the most important and this CPU has plenty of it. Intel (in this CPU) has given us speed, a great architecture, and 2 MB of L2 cache. Its a cool running processor, its 45nm construction makes it an excellent over clocker.

Decent Processor For Overclocking

T. Vela, Amazon
31 March 2011
  • Summary: I bought this processor in June of 2010 to replace an older processor for my brother's computer to play WoW(World of Warcraft)with decent performance and with a tight budget at that time. Over time this processor has done decent to run older games and just for everyday use. This is not a high end gaming processor but with overclocking it is very good in over all performance.

Not a bad processor if you're stuck with a 775 socket.

MichaeL, Amazon
25 January 2011
  • Summary: For the value this 775 is good.. especially compared to other 775s that are only marginally better but quite a bit more expensive. I had to buy a heat spreader as this one got pretty hot using the standard Intel fan. It still runs hotter than I would like but it's in safe operating ranges when running processor intensive applications such as games and 3d modeling software. I typically verify temps running SpeedFan and CoreTemp and at the hottest see temps around 47* ..
