Summary: How can I review a product I have not received, it is not due yet. However I have used the same proct in my present computer since 2002 and it has worked very, very well I am more than satisfied
Summary: Popped it in and worked perfectly fine. The OEM fan is pretty quiet and easy to snap on. Item came fast and works great. I paid $20 for it, I almost feel guilty for getting such a good deal on it. I overclocked it to 2.6ghz without changing any other setting and it's stable.
Summary: It's an older dual core CPU with only 1MB cache (similar to the newer Celerons) but their true power lies in their overclockability and low power consumption. Easily reaches 2.60GHz and above without any voltage adjustments, and runs cooler than most CPUs do after a 30% boost in frequency.
Summary: Why to buy a 400$-500$ CPU if you can get one of those nice things and OC it until get 2.7 GHz with stock cooling? Man, this CPU is THE WAY TO GO, cheap, good temps and extreme OC...that's almost perfection...(would be if its free..
Summary: While not a full on Core 2 Duo, it is close enough with the main difference being the 1mb cache. I was reluctant because of this fact until I looked over a few benchmarks showing this outperforms the P-D 950 and is only slightly beaten out by the C2D of the same specs. With the addition of a better heatsink (which most custom builders add anyway) I have this OC'd to 2.2ghz running at 30C with zero problems. Even at the base speed, this is just a great deal.
