Great CPU!!!

  • Summary: Want to build a kick-butt gaming machine on a buget? This is the CPU for you. Be sure you have a good motherboard and a good case that can breath well so that heat won't be an issue. I am running mine with the stock fan and heatsink and I have none of the heat issues that others have written about.
  • Pros: Fast, powerful and inexpensive.
  • Cons: None

  • Summary: This works great for video editing and is fully capable of supporting 64 bit windows xp. I am currently using windows xp 32 bit and do not plan on upgrading until windows vista, but with a compatible motherboard, this proc. is 64 bit ready.
  • Pros: very fast and easy to install, compatible with a wide range of motherboards.
  • Cons: expensive, but not as expensive as the dual core models.

Good Processor

29 January 2006
  • Summary: I upgraded from a 3.0 478 package. In the performance tests it does not seem that much faster, however I upgraded my memory, motherboard, and video card as well, so it's hard to tell which individual part made the biggest change. Many people have written about how hot this runs.
  • Pros: Good quality, Intel support, quick
  • Cons: None

Very Fast Processor

latinoseller, PriceGrabber
20 January 2006
  • Summary: Intel manufactures excellent CPUs, and this one was not the exception. The cost of the CPU is also reasonable compared to a Dual core Pentium D or AMD 64FX. For example, the price of a Pentium D 2.8GHz is almost the same as the Pentium 4 650 3.4GHz. So you get less speed for more money.
  • Pros: Very powerful, stable, fast, and reliable processor. A lot of cache memory; 2MB! Latest Intel Technologies including support for 64 bit applications (EM64T). In general applications run very fast.
  • Cons: It gets a little bit hot, but with some cooling paste, CPU air duct and fan, the heat problem is resolved!

Works Well

Danchu, PriceGrabber
4 January 2006
  • Summary: A simple pentium processor that generates fast computing power for an average price. I have used this and a pentium dual core 2.8ghz and for about the same price, I feel this product runs smoother atm. I can't speak for the heatsink though, as I have replaced mine with a more efficient model.
  • Pros: Fast
  • Cons: None at the moment
