True Workhorse

E.Langdon, Amazon
11 December 2013
  • Summary: Been rock solid since I fired it up, noticeable speedup for single thread programs. Energy usage is amazing - total build uses 100W less that the previous. Passed my burn in test with flying colors (x264 10bit encode of 1080p content over the course of 5hrs) Full tilt - runs hot, but no hiccups with...

Great, fast, low-ish power.

Kendrick Vargas, Amazon
11 December 2013
  • Summary: Very fast CPU, love that it's low power. Since I need more words, I'd like to point out that the fit into the socket was perfect, so points for manufacturing tolerances to high standards :-)

Worthwhile upgrade if you are in the market

ET, Amazon
23 September 2013
  • Summary: It's a pretty good CPU for the $. There isn't as much bang for the buck as in previous cycles (in fact, SSDs have been the most efficient upgrade route for some time now), but going from an i3 to an i7 is worth it in this specific case.

Excellent performer

Dunckx, Scan
29 March 2014
  • Excerpt: Fast and remains at low temperature (65C all cores) when drawing 65W. The graphic support on chip is OK for a no-frills workstation doing scientific number crunching but if you are a gamer or wanting to run high quality graphic arts-related programs you'll need a good graphics card.

Expected Intel quality, and some energy-saving too

dsim, Scan
23 December 2013
  • Excerpt: Bought this because it used only 65W but could still be overclocked if necessary. All fine so far, does what it says. Certainly makes photo-editing much better.
