It's alright.

Wanda C., Newegg
15 February 2014
  • Summary: It's hard to start off with a review of this chip, as it's probably the most mixed-bag product I've ever purchased. to start with the basic positive point of this chip, it's really fast.
  • Pros: - Faster than AMD. - Faster than most other Intel chips. - Lots of impressive instructions sets. - Hyper-Threading is much improved over the original Pentium 4 implementations. - K series chips like this one have unlocked multipliers needed for overclocking.
  • Cons: - Way too expensive for what it is. - Poor overclocking performance from voltage limits (not thermally limited) - Only 4 actual execution cores. - Tacked on / forced on-board graphics chip has numerous issues. - K series chips sacrifice all Intel specific computing technologies for multiplier ove...

lack of competition makes manufacturing quality go down

Howard L., Newegg
27 January 2014
  • Summary: the lack of competition has intel cutting corners. gone are the days when cores are properly soldered underneath the heatspreader. Intel started cutting corners by using cheap under performing thermal interface pastes to connect the cores under the heatspreaders, instead of soldering, while still...
  • Pros: fast chip when it works. lots of room for overclock; however it's inherently held back by its design.
  • Cons: believe it or not, i actually got a faulty chip the first time. the first chip didn't pass stress test and ran HOT. until this day, intel tech support will still deny the usage of TIM underneath the Heatspreader, which inherently limits what this chip's ultimate potential. also due to lack of com...

Wish I went Xeon

Michael S., Newegg
18 December 2013
  • Summary: Intel sells Xeon processors that are nearly identical to this. You can get one that runs at 3.4Ghz instead of 3.5Ghz. They have the same cache, allthe same features including hyper-threading and turbo boost.
  • Pros: The Intel Core i7-3770k is one of the most powerful processors for home use in the world. Compared to the new Haswell processor equivalent, the i7-4770k, this CPU uses less power, produces less heat, and performs almost identical. I prefer only to buy and use either i3 or i7 CPUs. The i3 and i7 C...
  • Cons: Overclocking results vary greatly. Need excellent cooler to get past even a low overclock. Runs hot with a mid-range air cooler. Should of got Xeon.

  • Summary: First off i actually did not want to knock the stars off on this one, but felt obligated because as a consumer im rating my experience with the item. First ill start by saying that im an average joe when it comes to my computer tasks besides heavy programs such as photoshop, lightroom, etc.

Have i missed something?

Brad, Amazon
29 December 2013
  • Summary: Everyone says this is the best thing since toast and i don't know why this CPU seems to be not much faster than my old quad core q8300. Rendering times, it still takes like an hour to render a 30 mins 4Mbps WMV video with z77 mobo and 8GB 1600Mhz ram.

Emballage d'expédition peu adapté.

Kalix, Amazon
4 May 2013
