Workhorse

Robert David, Amazon

  • Summary: This processor is fast, but it is also HOT! Paired it with a Coolmaster Hyper 212 Evo with plenty of cooling and it still seems to run a little on the hotter side. But as far was work goes, this beast gets it done and gets it done fast!

  • Summary: Brought used but works great. Video re-encoding is a breeze for this CPU. Over kill for gaming but great.
  • Pros: 4 core with Hyperthreading = 8 threads, runs really cool even with stock cooler
  • Cons: none

Great performance. Get thermal paste for installation.

  • Summary: A really big improvement on my dual core CPU. The built in graphics hardware is great. One tip: Get some thermal paste. You need fresh thermal paste to cool the chip with your existing processor fan. Thermal paste is not reusable.

  • Summary: Wow! I just got a used i7 3770 (non -K) chip and it made my Windows experience silky smooth. I through a 5g SVP (smooth video project) with level 4 MadVR via MPC-HC and it hit 65% load at 64C temp on stock cooling. Dang!
