Very Good!

Yashar F., Newegg
12 April 2014
  • Summary: Build:
  • Pros: We have put this CPU under insane tests ( well our work needed that!) and it has been great! This processor can run at 100% load for 10 days without any issue.
  • Cons: Single processor per board

Buy this one instead of i7 4770!!!!

Djalma Bellentani Filho, Amazon
11 April 2014
  • Summary: The Xeon processors can work as a regular Cpu for desktops! This one performs just like i7 4770! If you dont wanna overclock, go for it! Cheaper with the same perfomance! You can use regular LGA 1150 MoBos, just like you would buy for your i3/i5/i7! (Check the cpu list on the manufac.website) Till now, working 100%!!!

Zero Regrets

Brendan P., Newegg
15 March 2014
  • Summary: Even in a workstation build like mine, I had to put an aftermarket cooler on it to make sure I got the best performance under stress
  • Pros: Great performance, better value vs consumer line and xxx5 models with integrated gnu (and lower wattage).Allows full access to vt-d and vpro on my C226 board!
  • Cons: Stock fan doesn't cool well enough; causes cpu throttling under high load

Very fast. The clear choice for dedicated GPU users.

QuintonQL, Amazon
11 March 2014
  • Summary: This Xeon is comparable to its i7 counterpart but has a lower thermal profile and price. If you don't need an integrated Intel GPU, this is the clear choice in comparison to the i7.

Like a cheaper 4770

TheMinervanConquest, Amazon
21 February 2014
  • Summary: This is a great CPU if you don't need integrated graphics, and you want to save a few dollars on what is essentially a 4770 (non-K). Despite being a server/workstation CPU that would normally be paired with a server/workstation oriented chipset, it works great on a Asus Gryphon Z87 motherboard. Using this CPU with a Z87 chipset will prevent certain technologies from being enabled. Primarily vPro and VT-d. Other (virtualisation) technologies like VT-x work fine.

Solid server CPU

Stephen R., Newegg
7 July 2013
  • Pros: Great server CPU at a great price! I paired with ASUS P9D-E/4L ATX Server Motherboard LGA 1150. This is my third Haswell socket and all are excellent. No issues or problems at all. Very smooth. Running Windows Server 2008 R2 with Remote Terminal Services. Internet terminals are very fast and smooth.
  • Cons: If you use this CPU on a server board, it may require ECC registered RAM. Newegg details may not indicate this although the board mfg websites will. No biggie, but if you purchase the wrong RAM, a server board may not boot.
