Intel Core i7 990X Extreme Edition CPU review

8 April 2011
  • Conclusion: We feel a computer-car analogy coming up, as the Core i7 990X is in some ways a lot like a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. Intel Core i7-990X Extreme Edition Review

23 March 2011
  • Conclusion: We lauded the i7-980X when it launched, as it justified its exorbitant price with its extra pair of cores and better overclocking potential compared with other LGA1366 CPUs. The i7-990X shares these features but enters a changed market, due to Intel's own LGA1155 CPUs.

Expert Review

7 March 2011
  • Summary: Unfortunately, or fortunately as the case may be, this portion of our evaluation is going to be rather dry, tasteless or otherwise devoid of flavor. You see, when you bump a processor's clock speed up by about 3.5% or so, the performance increase usually scales linearly.
  • Pros: Killer Performance, Tiger Blood-Infused, Most Overclocking Headroom Yet, 6-Cores, Yay, Compatible with Existing Mobos
  • Cons: Crazy Fast Means a Crazy Price Tag, Still No Official DDR3-1333 Support For Tri-Channel??

Expert Review

21 May 2011
  • Excerpt: Po premierze platformy LGA1155 i procesorów z rodziny Sandy Bridge wszystkie dotychczas dostępne rozwiązania Intela straciły zdecydowanie na atrakcyjności. W przypadku LGA1156 taka kolej rzeczy jest zrozumiała, nowa platforma miała bowiem zastąpić tą podstawkę.
