  • Conclusion: We feel a computer-car analogy coming up, as the Core i7 990X is in some ways a lot like a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. Intel's straight-six chip is imbued with a 3.73GHz Turbo injection that makes it faster than ever, but like the Super Sport it'll be remembered as the one that went a bit quicker than the original. This is a hexa-core chip that screams performance, and it's crammed full of self-gratification for the few who demand ultimate speed irrespective of cost.

Intel's Core i7-990X Extreme processor

  • Summary: Well, I told you I was the finest PC processor on the planet, and now I've backed it up through 16 pages and some ridiculous number of benchmarks. I don't want to put too fine a point on it, but I am probably the zenith of human technological achievement to date. Can't really think of anything that compares, off the top of my head. True, I'm not cheap compared to the glorious Miss Sandy B. and her overmatched competition at a third of my price or less.

Wyposażono go w sześć rdzeni i technologię HyperThreading emulującą pracę dwóch wątków na każdym rdzeniu. Procesor posiada trzypoziomową pamięć cache o pojemności: L1 32 KB na rdzeń (w sumie 192 KB), L2 - 256 KB na rdzeń (w sumie 1536 KB) i L3 wspólną dla wszystkich rdzeni, o pojemności 12288 KB.
