this thing rox

Renee Wojkowski, Amazon
16 December 2012
  • Summary: i know this processor is a bit pricey, but well worth it. just a warning, it's not like most other ones for instillation. it mounts down using a piece of plastic that is placed on the back side of the mother board. anyhoo, it runs great. the fan on it is super quiet, i dont even hear it. and it keeps everything a lot cooler than any others i've had before it.

Get the i7-2600k chip instead.

R. Lee "Gadget lover", Amazon
4 May 2012
  • Summary: I was in a hurry to build a computer and the i7-2600k chip wasn't available at the time. I should have waited. I gave this chip to my son and he is happy since it is a step up from his Q6600 chip. Don't waste your money.

Btw im using an EVGA X58 SLI3 mobo and a 6gb corsair dominator kit :) Nite, iv taken him as far as 4.6 ghz but at that speed with my cooling system the temps get too hich so i had to take it down to 4.3

Tick Tock

mitney, Amazon
27 March 2011
  • Summary: I went from socket 775 with a q6600 to a new motherboard, ram and this cpu. Since I don't have time to benchmark, I can honestly say that I don't notice any stand out differences from my old setup. I got caught up with the bleeding edge hype and took the bait. I did overclock my q6600 and haven't had time to overclock this 930 yet, so maybe that will be a different story. Still, I wish I had waited for sandy bridge or a few more tick tocks.

Intel has really mastered the hyper threading technolog

ashleen_alejandra, Ebay
7 February 2011
  • Summary: Intel has really mastered the hyper threading technology in the new i7 processors. From what I can see from what I have read and from the core performance in task manager, is that the processor reserves a certain amount of processing power instead of maxing it out so that when you open new tasks there is reserve power left to use instead of having to take from the tasks already processing, so you can do a lot, I mean a lot of stuff, and still use your computer as if...
