  • Summary: For all of you that thinks that the lower NM the better you are wrong cause until that's starts to matter it has to be nano size meaning way beyond right now probably at least 10-15 years from now maybe the year 2025-2030
  • Pros: This is what I have search in the past 5 years I have been with intel... Intel i7 3960x Sandy Bridge-E the one I have been using the past 5 years has 2.27 Billion Transistors and it has been created for hard core gamers, media freaks and hardcore editors.... And this one the one I am posting the ...
  • Cons: Pricey but worthy if any of you guys want a fast processor for everything I strongly recommend to look forward on Buying not this version but the old one code name Sandy Bridge-E this one is 4960x the old one is 3960x

Fast, Freaky Fast

Anonymous, Newegg

  • Summary: I have since bought a second one that I want to use of my wife's PC. These chips rock. I may upgrade the motherboard before I will need to upgrade this chip. Too bad I cannot put both of these CPUs in one motherboard to make a machine that could be extraordinary.
  • Pros: This is a very fast processor. I originally thought the investment was not worth it, but after considering the options decided on it anyway. I do not regret that decision. It eats through video compiling live a hot knife through soft butter. I built a monster PC that will last me quite a while. A...
  • Cons: The cost, but most enthusiast chips are for a select audience.

Good Investment

  • Summary: In my situation, the investment was worth it.. I have a sandy bridge chip in my second machine that I had to put a beefier cooler on just to do the same stuff I can do on my 5 year old extreme chip that's running on stock fan/heatsink.
  • Pros: For all the haters, I'm going to explain why this chip is worth the xtra money. I bought an extreme edition chip back in 2009. The one I bought was "Intel Core i7-965 Extreme Edition Bloomfield Quad-Core 3.2GHz LGA 1366". 5.5 years later, I'm still using this cpu and am able to play the latest ga...
  • Cons: Initial investment is steep.

Very good CPU for enthusiast PC's or for 3D rendering workstations ...

AJB, Amazon

  • Summary: The CPU is a BEAST! Very good CPU for enthusiast PC's or for 3D rendering workstations (which is what we are using it for). However, don't purchase from the Nerds.com. Over priced and bad service!
