Summary: I upgraded to this from the i7-4820K. This has been running my computer for 2 years with plenty of horsepower to spare. I run multiple monitors and a TV from my PC, I do use AutoCad and Revit all the time while listening to Pandora, watching youtube, and browsing the web, and searching google, and...
Summary: All The Hardware In This Build Gets A Windows Experience Index Rating Of 7.9 Except This CPU.. My Quad - Intel 2700k 3.5 aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Gets A 7.8 Too ($350.00). It Makes Me Wonder What I Have To Spend On A Intel Processor To Get A 7.9.... $1000.00 +usd?
Pros: 40 PCI Express Lanes. Runs Cool With Corsair H110...Windows Experience Rates It at 7.8 Overclocks To 4.8 with Asus X79 Deluxe. Very Fast Chip
Summary: This baby is out of this world, super fast, over clocks great also, easy to install and work with, and it has handled anything I thrown at it so far. Run cool also, water cooled but never gets over 37 degrees C; no matter what I'm doing.
The future is now people. When you buy this you will own your own supercomputer.

Summary: I simply cannot test this CPU with my day to day use because it stays at 1.5 GHZ most of the time. Virtually nothing I throw at it makes it sweat at all. I rendered a video on Adobe Premier the other day nearly in real time. I hadn't even begun overclocking it.
Summary: It only loses a star because overclocking this CPU is a bit more delicate than say the 3930k, which is a overclocking juggernaut. overclocking this requires a bit higher voltage than normal and usually can only overclock to a stable 4.4-4.5ghz tops.
Summary: This chip is a beast, as expected. Blows a lot of Xeons out of the water. One think to consider is your cooling solution. The 6-core chips run hotter than your quad cores. I suspect most people building on this chip are already doing this but this chip runs hot.
Summary: What can you say, its a beast. Its just a shame that it costs so much but its understandable. If you don't require 3-way SLI, look in to a 5820k build. Just need DDR4 pricing to come down. The chip is $200 cheaper but it only has enough PCI lanes to support 2 card SLI at 16x. This chip runs hot!
Summary: If you are running out of processor power, this is a very nice upgrade! Most of the time i don't use more than 30% of its power, but when I do need the power, it is always ready to blow away applications I throw at it! :D
Pros: This is an AMAZING processor! It has a lot of power, and is extremely wonderful for HEAVY multitasking, and running heavy games at the same time.

Pros: Six cores, hyperthreading, unlocked and 40 lanes available for PCIe. I got this on sale on black friday weekend. It's part of a major upgrade for my gaming rig. I now can enjoy true PCIe 3.0 SLI @ 16/16 and a physx card also at PCIe 3.0 x 8. I've noticed quicker boot times and faster load times a...
