Summary: I use Solidworks for my design use and simulations. If I just wanted a gaming rig I would have gone with something a lot less than this as games are not CPU dependent.
Pros: Chews through anything I throw at it with ease. Gaming is the lightest activity this CPU sees from me. Video editing and encoding as well as 3D modeling analysis is where this chip shines. 2011 socket and the X79 chipset is made for being a powerhouse of a workstation. I run CFD and stress/ fatigue analysis simulations with this and it makes my work computer look pathetic.
Summary: I LOVE this CPU. It's super fast for the money. I paired it with the following: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0064L8UJM http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00631QFG8 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EUPV2RQ All in all it's a great combination. I'm extremely pleased and I highly recommend it.
Summary: i want lga 2011 to get the same love from intel as the lga 1150/1155 sets. this is still the best cost/benefit cpu for any sli or crossfire application. the difference is so vast to lga 1150 or amd in multi gpu set ups that it's not even funny.
