Summary: OK, so I replaced the Intel i5 Haswell 3.4GHz with this i7 4770 and my Windows processor score actually went down slightly! I really haven't noticed much difference either, except multitasking seems to run a touch faster and smoother.
Summary: Upgraded to this to run MSFlightSim (FSX). Huge improvement, especially with complicated 3rd party sims (PMDG 777). I'm able to use the stock INTEL fan and it still runs cool. This, combined with my 750Ti GPU, leaves me with plenty of power left over.
Pros: This CPU is fast. Plus, the 4-core/8-way processing allows for some great multitasking. I got this for my new, compact, gaming build.
Cons: I came from an i5 core that usually didn't reach temperatures above 40 or 50 degrees Celsius. This thing reaches 65-70 when I'm gaming (granted I have a compact case that is more prone to collect heat). You'll definitely want after-market cooling for this CPU.
Summary: Can't speak highly enough of this CPU. They are more expensive than any other but worth the cost if you need the processing power.
Pros: Top name in the CPU business that definitely stands up to it's reputation. Used this CPU for a new gaming build and for misc home video transfers using various types of editing software as well as PhotoShop CS3. Works flawlessly and delivers everything Intel say's it does. Although the supplied c...
Pros: This is a very fast processor. I paired this with a Z97 motherboard. It's fantastic. Intel always has great processors over AMD in my own opinion. For what I need this for (non gaming), this will work great!
