awesome

Elliot M., Newegg
  • Summary: I'm no computer wizard, so this review is from probably a below average knowledge consumer.
  • Pros: Despite the box being a little bashed everything inside was good to go. I used a factory fan, works fine for my needs (gaming, internet, some basic GIMP work). Plugged right in and fired right up, hoping it lasts a long time. Mega faster than what I upgraded from (AMD X64 dual core from the dark ages)
  • Cons: As of now, none (2 weeks into ownership)

Great speeds.

Ryan Scoby, Amazon
8 May 2014
  • Summary: This is a super fast processor, but if you aren't planning on overclocking, get the i7-4771 for about $5 more. It's worth it because it comes 100MHz faster than the 4770. Although 100Mhz is a mere 3-4% increase in overall speed. This processor's overall speed is about equal to an overclocked i7-4770K because of the extra instruction sets.

Great Processsor.

Ronald J. Labellarte, Amazon
7 May 2014
  • Summary: This processor installed very easy. Powered up on first try. And runs incredibly fast and is very efficient. I mated this with a new 1150 motherboard (Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD5H) and a new power supply (Corsair Professional Series HX 750 Watt ATX/EPS Modular 80 PLUS Gold) tested with this chip. After the set time frame the whole system will hibernate and become silent. When I want to start using the computer. It wakes instantaneously and I am ready to go.

Stephen L. Gunter, Amazon
6 May 2014
  • Summary: I am a gamer and built a gaming computer I went back and forth between this and an i5, but decided to shell out the extra cash and get this, I am not disappointed. Everything is so fast, and I haven't even overclocked it yet.

Haswell + Hyperthreading Inside

Jason Farrell, Amazon
23 April 2014
  • Summary: I need you need to build a high-end workstation or gaming PC, today, this is probably the CPU you want. Hyperthreading is the main difference between the i7 and the i5, and it does make a real-world difference in heavy-workload apps. The on-chip Intel HD4600 graphics is also quite capable, as long as you don't expect high framerates in AAA games at high-quality @ 1080p; if you do, buy a separate video card.

Of course it's good

Val Ross, Amazon
13 April 2014
  • Summary: Intel only makes good stuff and this is one of the newest processors. You can overclock it, but even without your system will fly.
