Summary: I purchased this for a combined gaming/simulation build. I've never had any trouble with it and it easily handles anything I throw at it. As part of my job, I run parallelized simulations so it runs at full load for extended periods and is perfectly fine. I've seen some people complaining that it doesn't come with a heat sink, but if you are buying a processor like this and plan on fully utilizing it, you don't want a stock cooler anyway.
Summary: I was sick of waiting for Ivy bridge-E so I went Sandy Bridge-E. This was a HUGE upgrade over my good old 775 Core 2 Quad 9550, RIP. If your looking to upgrade wait for Ivy Bridge it is due out in a month. Still will walk all over haswell because of the features the x79 has over the x87.
