CPU Review

Ar-Mex M., Newegg
20 March 2011
  • Summary: After overclocking this processor, it handle well. Temps were good and got extra juice out of it. Leaving it at stock speeds, it handle well. If you are going to be just using simple tasks and Internet, save some money and buy this.
  • Pros: This processor has the video on die and if you are looking to save some money and space then this is the processor. By space I mean that you will not have to lose hard drive bays because of a 10" or longer video card.
  • Cons: Not a con and no way a deal breaker to remove an egg, but when selecting a board with this processor, read the manual. An instance, one board said to make sure that in the BIOS you make sure it is set to VGA video first before moving on to setting the video to DVI or HDMI.

Great CPU

Andrew T., Newegg
30 January 2011
  • Pros: This is a great CPU, owned it for 6 months and not a hiccup. I'm a semi-hardcore gamer and it performs nicely on my games.
  • Cons: Stock heatsink is not great I suggest a Hyper 212 + it's inexpensive and does what it advertises

fool me twice - shame on me

Richard B., Newegg
9 January 2011
  • Summary: Even if you are not a gamer, do yourself a favor and buy a CPU w/o integrated graphics, a P55 mother board, and a sub $50 graphics card. Something based on the ATI Radeon HD 4650, or NVIDIA GeForce equivalent, should blow away the integrated graphics performance.
  • Pros: I'm not a gamer anymore, so I wasn't looking for super high performance graphics. As with my old Pentium 4, I fell for the Intel sales pitch about their integrated graphics. If you are just doing office work, they're great. But if you are viewing or working with photos, they're horrible. The pics...
  • Cons: Integrated graphics are not suitable for anything but basic office/home applications.

Nice!

Anonymous, Newegg
3 January 2011
  • Summary: yay Intel!
  • Pros: Yeah...I don't know about other people's thoughts, but I mainly game on my pc (since 1984) and this cpu does it amazingly well. Of course the intergrated gpu is NOT for gamers...but gee, look! I have a high end gpu in the pci slot...sooooooo, it actually does way better in some games as the i5 75...
  • Cons: yes, i actually think it could be around $20-40 less
