Summary: Got exactly what I ordered in a decent timeframe. Bought it to go in a gigabyte ga-z97n gaming 5 mini-itx motherboard along with the Cooler Master Elite 120 Advanced! Great build with overclocking possibilities!(The only thing I would have changed, would have been to order an Elite 130 instead, just for the ease of water-cooling!
Summary: My step son wanted to build a gaming computer, and wanted to get the most for his $$$. This CPU, a Radeon 7950, and 8GB DDR3 1600 RAM in an Antec One case and a 2TB Seagate 7200RPM drive stretched his budget, but he's been playing every game he has (and that's a lot of them) with no issues at all. One big plus with this processor is that it runs cool, even with the stock fan. We haven't overclocked it as there is absolutely no need to.
Summary: was tempted into buying the i7 4770k but then i found out that only a handful of games use hyper threading so i got this instead, best choice, if the games says Ultra setting = 4770k dont believe it the i5 Is kicking ass with a slight overclock using the stock cooler, can do the same as the i7 no complaints.
Summary: I'm currently using a Z97 chipset motherboard and overclocking my i5-4670k to 3.8Ghz. My aftermarket CPU cooler is a "Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo," ambient temperature in my room is 26°C, and idling temperature of the CPU is 32°C. At 3.8Ghz this CPU runs a Wii emulator and all of its games flawlessly. I'm planning on overclocking this CPU to 4.0Ghz, and hopefully 4.2Ghz in the future.
