Summary: This is a great 4th generation (Haswell) quad core 3.4ghz processor for LGA 1150 motherboards. This is a great upgrade if you're coming from SandyBridge or earlier. However, there's not much difference in performance if you're coming from Ivybrudge and perhaps it might be better to wait for the next Gen. It handles anything, I'm throwing at it including multi-tasking (word, excel, photo editing, web) and numerous tabs and pages open at any one time.
Summary: Paired this with a MSI Z87-GD65. No issues whatsoever. The included heatsink is pretty tiny. I used a Zalman 9700. Temps are around 32C idle and 62C at full load. Very impressed with how far this CPU can go. I highly recommend this CPU. Plays games with no issues. I had no need for an i7 unless you are video rendering or just want to spend the extra cash. This CPU handles Skyrim, BF4, Crysis, etc... just fine.
Summary: It's a great processor. Top of the line for Haswell (LGA 1150) motherboards. The only thing against this is the price, but that's just my opinion. If you're willing to opt for something better, like hyper-threading, I would suggest going for the i7-4770k.
blown away. this absolutely exceeded my every expectation.

Summary: overclocked to 4.3 ghz on air cooling it idles around 30c and pushes to load around 77c(ive never pushed past 60c while gaming). this thing is an absolute monster. running with a samsung evo ssd and 7 cas corsair vengence oced to 1866mhz .... i boot to desktop in under 5 seconds. best cpu i ever owned by far. this is all anyone ever needs for gaming. remember its only .5 fps difference between the 4770k and the 4670k. forget about amd for gaming and the i7.
Summary: AWESOME CPU! That sums it up in one word. I used to be a hardcore AMD guy years ago but they aren't as completive at the high end now days. The i7's offer very little performance difference over the i5s too as other reviewers have stated. Currently have all cores running at 4.3 at 1.160 Volts. I have the Thermaltake watercooler exterem 3.0 cooling 240mm cooling this and it stays chilly! After several hours of games its right around or below 40c!
Pros: Fast and it Works :) overclocked to 4.4ghz on my ITX setup. Nothing I throw @ it really taxes this CPU...I play Diablo 3, SC2, WoW, LoL and haven't experienced any lag yet.
Cons: Like everyone else has been saying...this thing gets hot...idle temps are great but the moment you stress test this baby out...she screams. @ 4.4ghz using intel burn, she hits up into the high 70s and sometimes low 80s. But again nothing in real world application we use will tax her that hard.
