Summary: Because most people don't buy this processor for the cooler, I'll overlook that. However, the cooler does seem to work fine, and probably will for most as this particular unit is not overclockable like the 4670K is. Used in a hackintosh, this chip paired with good ram and an SSD will fly. It has been very reliable so far and the performance boost from my 3 year old Macbook Pro (1st gen i5) is astounding. If you never plan to overclock, get this one.
Summary: I returned this unit to go a different way. I'm sure this is a fine product like all Intel products. My decision to go with an AMD fx8320 was simply based on performance per dollar. The AMD device was on sale at amazon, so I took advantage of their offer.
Summary: Combine it with the MSI Z87-G43 or the ASUS Z87-A and you are ready to rock. If you want 4K capability go for the i5-4670K, otherwise just keep with this one. Great performance, price combination. As a computer Technician I recomend it. You will see people offer better solutions which are not cheaper, but cost much more. If you can afford it, go ahead, otherwise stay within your budget with this one.
I haven't even Overclocked it yet and it's blazing fast....

Summary: I paired mine with a MSI Computer Corp. Z87 MPOWER MAX AC Motherboard. They're both great for overclocking (though there is a core i5 with a nearly identical model number that works better for overclocking). It's faster than my old Core i7 3.06GHz processor and runs cooler. Having it on a Corsair H60 liquid-cooling system with a custom push-pull fan assembly keeps the temps in check if I ever decide to overclock it.
Summary: I got this one instead of the 4670k b/c I don't plan on doing any overclocking. It installed quickly and even has the "heat sink goop" already on the heat sink. Installs quickly and easily. After all is said and done - I wonder if I shouldn't have gotten an i7 but that's not this product's fault. :-) Good product and working like a champ!
Summary: I opted for the slightly higher clock speeds of the 4670. After running it pretty hard I only have a couple observations about the temperatures. With all four cores loaded and stock cooler, the temperatures can get up to 70 C. If you are just doing light work with your computer, the stock cooler is adequate. However, if you plan on running the processor at high load on 2-4 cores for extended periods, you should also plan on getting an aftermarket cooler.
Worked great for my hackintosh. Should have waited for a sale and gone with the 4670K.

Summary: I bought this at $219, though the week after it went to $209 and I got the difference refunded so the pricing was good. It looks like now the price is dropping even further, however. I believe a day or so after I installed mine I saw the 4670K drop to the same $219, and the overclocker hiding inside me is disappointed that I did not wait. I needed a new computer though as my old motherboard croaked after 5 years so I had no reason to be too picky.
