Excellent gaming with back up integrated graphics.

  • Summary: I built using this and a discrete graphics card (7850). I played Diablo 3 with the integrated graphics for a few days before the video card came. I was impressed. It wasn't fantastic, but it ran and was playable. I did a lot of research before building my last PC and this CPU fit the bill. I returned the first CPU because the included fan was making a bit of noise I didn't like. Amazon sent me a new one when I mentioned it.

Great product. Everyone should have one.

  • Summary: I've been wanting the I5 processor for some time. Didn't really feel the need for an I7. There is not a huge difference that I can see between it and the Q9550, but just by updating to the LGA 1155 socket and DDR3 memory, it's made a big difference in productivity and speed. Outstanding product. Couldn't be happier with my system.

  • Summary: I cannot tell the difference of speed of this I5 (3.3GHZ) with my I7 (2.66GHZ). I cannot tell the difference of speed of this I5 (3.3GHZ) with my I7 (2.66GHZ). I remember by first XT running just below 5MHZ. Now we have GHZ processors and I dont seem to do more.
  • Pros: I cannot tell the difference of speed of this I5 (3.3GHZ) with my I7 (2.66GHZ).
  • Cons: I cannot tell the difference of speed of this I5 (3.3GHZ) with my I7 (2.66GHZ).

Solid

  • Summary: It's not like you can really say anything bad about Intel. I've built machine after machine with AMD and Intel chips, and overall, I keep leaning towards Intel for their lower temperature, longer lasting CPU's. I paired this chip with an OCZ Vertex 4 250GB SSD, and this machine SCREAMS. I hardly released the mouse button and Visual Studio 2010 or SQL Server 2012, which are no slouches in the "Use up every available CPU cycle", have loaded.

Great value

  • Summary: This processor is insanely fast for the price. I wish it had hyperthreading like the i7 does, but I don't often need it so I can't complain too much. Works well with my mid-level ASUS motherboard. Totally stable. I'm not using the built in graphics, but I can't imagine they're very good for anything beyond the most basic desktop use.

For the money, this thing is fast

  • Summary: I know there are higher end CPUs out there but I am always cautious because of the rate of advancement how much extra power do you get when comparing this $200 CPU versus the $600 CPU? You can always upgrade later on and most likely get that $600 CPU for maybe $200 when you need the power down the road. This is the perfect compromise.

Perfect balance of value and quality

  • Summary: I purchased this for my first ever Intel build after having been using AMD for a few years. I have built about 15 computers in the last 18 months between work and family, and I noticed the intel gave much better performance for certain work-required apps than the amd cpu. Everything else was the same, so I got this. It handles everything I throw at it and the included heatsink/fan is quiet while keeping it cool.
