Summary: I'll start off by saying what I do with the CPU over the past year. -I play demanding games like BF4. -I like to program -I have two monitors -I like to be an amateur video and image editor Those are some of the uses I use the i5 for.
Summary: These things happen; this is only the second time ever something from Newegg has died on me. The only reason it's 4 eggs is due to my own bad luck. Great product overall.
Pros: The overall product is great, lives up to the good reviews. I didn't overclock and it still doesn't lag behind, and the fan is super quiet and keeps the system close to idle temp even when gaming.
Cons: I just had bad luck with this particular order. It ran great for the first week or so, then one day the rig started to power cycle when I turned it on. Turns out the fan wasn't kicking on and I had to manually spin it until after post, then it ran on its own.
Summary: Well... Too late for a review of this processor. The net is full of it. An interesting thing that I noticed is that installed in a very small mini-ITX case with a low cost low profile CPU fan (not the stock fan because it was too tall) it dissipated little heat. Worth considering for a small PC.
