Excerpt: The Intel Core i5-2500k processor is lightning fast, versatile, and worth every penny of its price ($219). In that particular price range, the i5 may be easily considered as “top dog.” Before deciding on its purchase, I researched it thoroughly as not to waste money. General consensus was marked as positive on all levels. And now, after having used it for a little while, I can safely say that I couldn’t have made a better choice.
Summary: This thing is downright amazing. It handles BF4 maxed out with ease, and general computer operating is extremely fast. This processor has made it so when I use other peoples computers, I get impatient at how slow they are. Keep in mind, there are better processors, but this one is fast enough to handle pretty much anything you throw at it, for now at least.
Summary: I bought this from the 'used like new' category and it was the best decision I've made. I was on a really limited budget and this processor was cheaper than the new one in at least $30 and it came perfectly packaged with a non-used stock fan. Performance wise it's quite okay, again great performance considering its price. I am running it overclocked at 3.7ghz and it's a pretty stable overclock for a non-k processor.
Summary: The IVY bridge Processor meets the demands for Windows 7 or Windows 8 with hardy a burp from interrupted work or multitasking operations. Highly recommend a Solid State Drive SATA3 (600gbs) to keep up with the i5's capabilities. Intel's built in Graphics are mediocre; however, after installing an ATI 5770, performance is superb. Handles every Game I have thrown at my PC after upgrading the Graphics Card.
Summary: When building PCs, many people go for an all-or-nothing approach. With the 2500k, another option is added. At 3.3Ghz, you will get a higher than average speed for a slightly above average price. There are better processors out there, albiet for a higher price, but if you're looking for a good middle of the road CPU, this is a perfect pick.
Summary: Intel i5-2500K 'Hits it out of the park' with this unlocked micro-processor ('K' = unlocked). I am on a severe budget so I purchased the i5 instead of the i7 to get 'more bang for the buck.' Newer series of Intel processors are now available.
Summary: I didn't get a chance to find out what the chip I was sent was like. The chip arrived wrapped in newsprint in a envelope . I didn't want to take the time and money to see if it as functional because of the shipping and the discolored connectors. A tip of the hat to customer service for the way it was handled. I bought a new i5 2500k from Amazon.
Summary: Everyone probably already knows what a legend this chip is, and I just want to say that it's all true. Easily bumped up my performance from the i3-2100 I had. One of my favorite games is F1 2012, which has a reputation for being very CPU reliant. When running the benchmark, I went from an average of 45 or so FPS to over 100 while on High settings! So yeah, it kicks butt.
