Pentium E6600 vs. Core 2 Duo E6600
13 July 2012
Summary: I mistakenly ordered this product needing a CORE 2 DUO E6600, not the PENTIUM of the same model number. It may work fine, since it was new/unopened... but I'm getting a black screen when I turn on my computer because this processor is not compatible with my motherboard EVEN IF the socket type is the same. That was a very confusing name choice on Intel's part.
Summary: From E5200 to E6600 you would assume it's a huge jump. Wrong, it's not. In fact there isn't a different. I wouldn't buy this cpu if I could go back. It works, what else can I say. Which is why I rate it 3 stars. Again do yourself a favorite and buy an actual duo core for this price.
not for older monitors, but great for office & htpc

Summary: When I saw the core i3-530, i thought Intel has finally released a cheap yet high performing 32nm Westmere architecture CPU with integrated graphic core and integrated memory controller. So I proceeded to order 4 Gigabyte H55M-USB3 motherboard and 4 Crucial 4GB DDR3. These combos were the highest performing parts @ lowest price I could find on April 2010 and it was recommended by [...] (probably the world's biggest and most authoritative review site).
