Great processor!

Mark H., Newegg
29 July 2015
  • Summary: Don't use the integrated graphics and throw in a good GPU and most of you will be very happy with this processor. Unless you are an ultra heavy gamer. That being said Skyrim runs on Ultra settings with my AMD 6700 just fine with this processor so to each their own.
  • Pros: This processor has surpassed my expectations greatly! It might only be a dual-core but this little guy just keeps on trucking! Many people are shying away from dual-core processors but if everyone studied their workflow, they would learn that they easily would be satisfied with a dual-core. More ...
  • Cons: Integrated graphics are far outdated and pointless to use with most builds. Throw in a decent GPU for best performance. Video rendering is slower than I'd like but price point of this processor keeps me attached to it. Only other con is that it runs a bit warmer than I'd like but the temperature ...

Workhorse

Gregory A., Newegg
6 December 2014
  • Pros: Bought this over 2 years ago for its overclocking ability. Using a Corsair H20 kit I've had this going at 4.5GHz since I installed it. Paired with a 660Ti card and an Intel SSD it handles all the games I throw at it . The only upgrades I do are the video card but I'm thinking about a new case bec...
  • Cons: None, best value for the money on price vs performance.

Mark B., Newegg
29 March 2014
  • Pros: Used this in a workstation build for work and has worked perfectly and Win 7 gave the graphics a 7.2 in WEI which I thought was pretty good for built in graphics
  • Cons: None at this time.

User Review

John H., Newegg
18 February 2014
  • Summary: This CPU would make a very capable gaming machine when paired with a good GPU. I'd never use it for gaming since this one of the lowest end CPUs I own.
  • Pros: Very fast for a dual core, I use it in one of my file servers. I did play some games, such as WoW, on it to test the HD 4000 graphics and was surprised. Intel's HD graphics have come a long way.
  • Cons: None

HTPC Awsome

Matthew D., Newegg
14 January 2014
  • Summary: If you are an HTPC fan, this is it. If you need to do encoding, or trans coding buy bigger. If you are just watching then this to watch TV. Then by all means get this.
  • Pros: I had an I7 for my HTPC. Then i replaced for this gem. Apparently I over killed with the I7. This processor has the same built in graphics.
  • Cons: Price, but for what your getting, at 55W, You will be money ahead when it comes to your electric bill.
