Summary: First time I've received something from newegg with no attempt to pack it properly.
Pros: Shipped and arrived fast. It does not appear to be damaged.
Cons: the 3x4x4.5 inch retail processor box was shipped inside of an 12x9x6 inch box without any packing material at all inside of it. The processor bounced around loose inside of this box during shipping..
Pros: I run a Linux server in my house, and I try to be as efficient as possible to lower the cost of ownership. Before I had a core 2 duo, after upgrading my server used around 55 watts on average, now it is down to 40 watts witch equates to about $35 dollars a year in energy costs. The chip is extrem...
Cons: It is pricey, but I am pleased with the results.
Summary: very good proc but if you don't want this i would recommend a i7 920 if not then get this one. its a very fast processor and mine destoys amd phenoms all day.
Pros: i got this proc over a yr ago and still running great. i have since oc'd this up to as far as 4.2 Ghz per core and its very solid even at 3.8Ghz. this thing generally does keep up with a couple of my friends i7 machines. so all in all very good for the price and with e0 stepping its all that much...
Cons: the price on newegg isn't cheap neither is tiger but i got mine for 240 last year and i see its only jumped up in price.
Summary: I was very excited about upgrading my video editing machine to a quad core from a dual core. After putting the machine back together with the supplied Intel fan, I started the machine. I was relieved that it came up fine, and worked much faster.
Pros: Very fast for an upgrade from a dual-core.
Cons: It didn't manage to work for more than 20 minutes or so before the computer restarted. I had to return it. Maybe AMD might be a better choice!
Summary: Been a loyal customer since 2001 or so. Placed mearly 30k in orders for me and others since then. THis had better not be the start of a new trend of saving three cents on a $800 order by not putting in packing peanuts or air bags.
Pros: Went with this processor and an USB 3.0 motherboard with DDR3 instead of upgrading to a newer socket after looking at head-spinning reviews of having a huge L2 cache. THis has 4MB more than most of the tests ive seen!
Cons: Newegg shipped this in a huge box with NO PADDING AT ALL inside. It had twelve inches by nine inches by five inches of travel on 3 axis. I sure hope it works. What's wrong with you, newegg?
