Low cost upgrade potential with decent performance

foothill_surplus, Ebay

  • Summary: The Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 is a great product. I have used 3 of them so far to build media centers for family members; building a basic-use machine for around $150.00 is a bargain. They are compatible with LGA775 system boards, so finding a compatible MB isn't an issue. The 8200 is the low end of the Core 2 Quad Intel line, but that fits perfectly into low cost builds.

good value if u find a fair price

john_h_couger, Ebay
9 July 2011
  • Summary: i think its a good chip for the price. not as fast as i hoped for but overall its quick. its a step up from your average core2 dual. so if you have a older core2 or less it worth the upgrade. if you have a newer core2 you might not notice much of a differance.

Nice item as the price is low

faineancy, Ebay

  • Summary: Nice item as the price is low, I liked it and the performance it supplied so far, it was used when I bough bt still meeting the demands of what I used it for. This Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 2.33 GHz Processor seems to provide the same performace for longer, recommended.

well i really cant tell

tymra7200, Ebay
11 May 2010
  • Summary: i upgraded from an core2 duo to this and at least in my game i didn't see a difference. in my mind this can mean only one thing i must be bottlenecked somewhere else. so this review is pretty much irrelevant sorry.( i found out recently that WoW does not take advantage of multiple cores so a faster processor would have been better that more cores.

Good upgrade over a core 2 duo.

Ryan R. Earley "Madman Earley", Amazon
13 April 2009
  • Summary: old, but still very useful for day to day applications and home server processes. reccoment using at least artic silver 5 thermal compound for the heatsink. the grey paste intel ships on their heatsink is crap after it dries out.

Leandro Silva, Amazon

  • Summary: This processor is the best way for save money, fast and reliable but if you have money, buy a Q9400. It's much more than this.
