Great price

Bruce Meyer, Amazon
13 February 2014
  • Summary: Purchased it used for about 25% of the new price, and it works like new! Not an i series CPU but it is a quad core and according to the benchmarks it is about 5 times better than the core 2 duo 3.2 ghz that it replaced.

Fast and stable

milo69690, Ebay
4 January 2014
  • Summary: The Intel Q6700 is a real workhorse. All my applications are noticeably faster and more stable. Matched with DDR2, Radeon 5670 and Intel G33 chipset. W7 loads in less than a minute and has a WEI score of 7.3. I believe this to be compatible to an I5.

Vast Improvement in Computing Speeds

rojtaszoo, Amazon
12 October 2013
  • Summary: Previously, I had a Intel Core 2 Duo running at 2.66 GHz installed in my Dell OptiPlex 745 mini-tower. While it was fast, this just blows it out of the water. WEI scores at 7.2 for the Core 2 Quad. I use this as a server and it is able to handle tasks at ease compared to the Core 2 Duo. It also has increased my BOINC scores by an incredible amount. If all you're doing is office work or some Internet browsing, this is overkill.

So far very good

customer, Amazon
18 September 2013
  • Summary: I built my own computer for music production and I believed that my dual core processor would suffice. It didn't, so I decided to goquad core. I could've probably just got a faster dual core, but for the price that I received this one I didn't think twice- plus it's faster than my dual core and have twice as many cores. You won't be able to live with a stock cooler. I had to get a better one- Durin D982- and it keeps me with an operating temp of around 40.

  • Summary: installation of this processor took my windows rating from 6.2 to 7.2. I installed a GTX 650 video card at the same time so my PC (Dell OptiPlex 755, WIN7 64Bit with 8GB of memory runs like a champ. I'm quite pleased with my purchase.

needed a bit more umph without spending $$$

toriandleroy, Amazon
31 July 2013
  • Summary: I built myself a C2D 6600 system back in 2006, with the plan to expand if needed. I now am using applications that can use quad core, and took a gamble on this. I am not disappointed. For the money I spent, I got a chip that looks almost new, and runs flawlessly. I have yet to OC, as it has not given me reason to. I have yet to hit 100% cpu load. All in all, I got a new machine for just a few bucks, and have easily gotten a few more years out of my 680i motherboard.
