Summary: I love the price vs quality of this processor. For the price, it has always been dependable and with the 4gb ram, and 1gb video memory I haven't found anything that has prevented it from offering satisfactory results. I would buy another in a second!
Summary: Bought the Intel Core 2 Duo E7600 - 3.06 GHz Dual-Core (BX80571E7600) Processor to try the 64 bit route with Win 7 Ultimate. Replaced dual core 32 bit processor. Works just fine, after Bios flash. Installed with no problem, does seem faster then 32 bit.
Summary: It's been some time since I bought this processor, and I've been using it with Windows 7 and 8GB of Ram. This processor is extremely fast, and has never let me down. I have run many programs at once without having a problem. This processor has held up through the years and my computer still runs like new.
Can't get better than this for the money, Great product at a great price.

Summary: First of all Intel makes one of the Best if not the best Processors in The Market, this one is no exception, ok. Now if your looking for the Latest & Greatest, this you is not for you, ok. This is a 775 Pin Breakout tech, but still a great CPU. Here are some general specs about it that say it all.
Summary: I upgraded to the E7600 processor because it was the fastest one that my very cheap Compaq (new at Circuit City for $267 about three years ago) would accomodate. It came wth an Intel E2160 which worked fine, but I had always planned on upgrading when the price was right. The improvement is quite noticable, especially when I paid only $88 for it. My stock Cooler Master CPU heat sink seems to work nicely for it as well (verfied with SpeedFan).
Summary: I installed the CPU to upgrade my wife's computer (HP/Compaq dc7700) and soon realized that I would have to update the BIOS and Microcode versions on the motherboard (chipset Intel Q965). Luckily, the firmware is available from the HP website. If you are going to upgrade an older machine then I highly recommend updating the firmware before installing this CPU. And don't forget to purchase a thermal compound such as Arctic Silver 5.
